Joyce Wilson Hoar, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, after a brief illness. Joyce was a longtime resident of Williamsburg and a native of Axton.

She retired from the College of William & Mary as an office administrator for the Buildings and Grounds Department. Joyce loved spending time with her family and spending time with her dear friends at the YMCA. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds.

Joyce’s memory is left to be cherished by her devoted husband of 56 years, Earl Hoar; sons, Todd Hoar (Emily) and Mark Hoar (Patsy); daughters, Bonnie Stainback (R.D.) and Michelle Hornbeck (Jim); and six grandchildren and a darling great-grandchild. Joyce loved spending time with her last remaining siblings, John Wilson, Edna Collins and Laverne Shaffer. She is also survived and loved by numerous other family members.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Beulah Baptist Church, 5490 Ware Neck Road, Gloucester.
