Jamestown was unable to slow down Smithfield’s offense during an 11-4 road loss on Wednesday.

After allowing a run in the bottom of the first inning, Jamestown responded as Samantha Lee and Jessica Mingo both scored off fielding errors in the top of the second inning.

Smithfield tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning before Jamestown took a 4-2 lead in the top of the third inning.

Madison Maharty of Jamestown smacked a two-run single into center field that gave the Eagles their final lead of the game.

The Packers responded with four runs in the bottom of the third inning, overtaking Jamestown and refusing to look back the rest of the way.

Leading 6-4, Smithfield closed the game by scoring five unanswered runs and pulling away from the Eagles.

Jamestown (3-7) will look to snap a three-game losing skid at home against Tabb on Friday.
