On a day with near perfect weather conditions, Jamestown's boys tennis team put together a near perfect performance against Warhill en route to a 9-0 win at home.
Not only did Jamestown handily defeat the Lions, dropping a total of 13 games through the nine combined singles and doubles matches, but they did so in a timely manner.
All six singles matches were decided within an hour, the last of which was a lopsided match between Jamestown's No. 1 Grayson DeBerry and Warhill's Jackson Cummins.
DeBerry, the reigning Conference 19 singles champion, used an array of stylish shots, including some nifty backhands from awkward angles, to dispatch Cummins 6-1, 6-2 right around the hour mark.
After a brief recess, the two teams hit the courts again for doubles play. Much like singles play, Jamestown displayed its dominance through all three doubles matches.
Jamestown's No. 3 doubles pairing of Daniel Kruger and Phillip Song quickly defeated Warhill's duo of Brian Shartzer and Geo Min 6-0, 6-0 in roughly 30 minutes. As the No. 3 doubles match concluded, the No. 2 doubles match also wrapped up with Jamestown's pairing of Albon Yowell and Lehman Montomgery coming out on top.
Less than a minute later, Jamestown's No. 1 doubles team of DeBerry and Brad Mahaffey closed out their win against Warhill's No. 1 doubles team of Cummins and Sam Hrncir.
When all was said and done, Jamestown earned nine match wins against Warhill in roughly 90 minutes.
Jamestown (6-2) faces a quick turnaround as the Eagles will host New Kent on Thursday. Meanwhile, Warhill (3-4) will prepare for a home match against Bruton on Monday.
