Mark Edward Hanna, 66, of Williamsburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 9, 2016.
Mark worked as an energy conservation engineer for FEDITC, acting as a resource efficiency manager with 1st Civil Engineering Squadron at Langley Air Force Base. He also served at Langley Air Force Base with ACC while employed as a contractor with Tetra Tech for five years.
Mark was a member of Incarnation Church in Williamsburg. He was a professed Third Order Franciscan with the Company of Jesus and served as chaplain to Living Stone Priory in Newport News, a local Franciscan chapter, whose primary ministry is Five Loaves Food Pantry. He was ordained an Anglican priest in the Missionary Diocese of All Saints (ACNA) under Bishop Richard Lipka.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hanna; mother, Dorothy Hanna; and in-laws Marvin and Claire Gropp.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Leslie Hanna; children, Tracey Miller, Jason Hanna, Jyd Martin, Timothy Hanna and Naomi Parnell; brother, Lee Hanna; grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Emma Hanna, Jillian Hanna and Charlotte Parnell; eight nieces and nephews; and other family members in Florida and Canada.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, with a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s honor to Five Loaves Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1399 Newport News, VA 23601.
