Duncan McDevitt and Tanner Herndon each scored a pair of goals as Jamestown defeated Poquoson 5-0 on the road Friday evening.

McDevitt opened the scoring in the first minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from freshman Isaiah McGee.

The Eagles went 37 minutes in between goals before Ben Carper scored off an Antonio Gonzalez assist in the 38th minute.

With Jamestown leading 2-0 at halftime, the Eagles continued building on their lead in the second half.

McDevitt scored his second goal in the 50th minute as Gonzalez logged his second assist of the game. Seventeen minutes later, Herndon scored off an assist from Matt Borg.

The final goal came in the 77th minute, with Herndon receiving a pass from McGee and finding the back of the net.

Jamestown (2-2-1) will visit Warhill on Thursday looking to string together back-to-back wins.

Mahaffy Scores Twice as York Beats Warhill

Paul Mahaffy scored a pair of goals as York defeated Warhill 3-0 at home Friday evening.

Mahaffy put York up 1-0 in the third minute, scoring an unassisted goal and giving the Falcons a quick advantage.

Cameron Dail followed up Mahaffy’s first goal with one of his own in the 18th minute. Dail received a pass from Bailey McClure and beat the keeper to put the Falcons up 2-0, which was the halftime score.

Mahaffy scored his second unassisted goal of the game in the 48th minute, helping York put the game out of reach.

With the win, York (8-0) remain perfect on the season. The Falcons will host Poquoson on Monday, while Warhill (4-1-1) will host Smithfield on Monday.

Henderson Nets Two as Tabb Beats New Kent

Stanley Henderson scored a pair of goals as Tabb handily defeated New Kent 5-0 on the road Friday evening.

The Tigers had a slow first half, holding a narrow 1-0 advantage at the break.

Henderson and the Tigers pulled away in the second half as New Kent was unable to slow down Tabb’s best offensive performance of the season.

Tabb (2-2-1) faces a tough test at home against Grafton on Tuesday.
