virginia department of healthThe Peninsula Health District is currently looking for a German Shepherd that bit a person on Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg on Thursday.

Since the dog’s rabies status is not known, it may be necessary for the victim may to undergo post exposure treatment, including shots, for the prevention of rabies if the dog is not found.

Once found, the dog will not be taken away from its owner. It will be placed on an in-home confinement period of ten days.
