The James City Lions Club will be out soliciting donations at three locations around the Historic Triangle this weekend as part of its semi-annual fundraiser.
The club, which is part of an international organization boasting thousands of chapters all over the globe, was founded more than 15 years ago as an offshoot of the Williamsburg Lions Club with a mission to address sight and hearing impairments and diabetes among the less fortunate, along with other community service projects.
On Saturday, club members will be present and collecting donations from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at New Town’s Panera Bread, the Farm Fresh in Toano and the Farm Fresh at the Governor’s Green Shopping Center.
In addition to collecting monetary donations, club members will also be collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids as well as selling the club’s signature broom for $12 apiece and the club cookbook for $5 each.
The James City Lions Club wishes to thank the community in advance for their support of this fundraiser.
