Everything works out for the best.
That’s how Samantha Mullen describes her recent decision to close Elements Massage and Bodywork on South Henry Street after four years.
“It’s been very difficult, of course,” she said. “I’ve spent the last 12 years focusing on making sure other people are healthy and following their wellness goals. It’s time to step back and focus that inward toward my immediate family.”
Mullen has been a licensed massage therapist since 2004 and attended the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in New York. She has also been a certified infant massage instructor and certified in manual lymphatic drainage massage since 2009.
Mullen said the past four years at Elements have been extremely successful with a great team focused on helping people reach their wellness goals or be pampered.
“I have a great, amazing team of practitioners, massage therapists, aestheticians and nail technicians, and they will all continue to do well,” Mullen said.
The last day for services will be May 14 in order to allow clients time to receive services and give her employees time to transition to other businesses.
Mullen said she will keep her website live with updates on where each team member goes and how clients can get in touch with them.
Mullen said she appreciates all who have supported her and the business over the years and particularly enjoyed seeing how well everyone in the community works together and supports one another.
“One of my favorite absolute parts of running this business is being a part of the community in Williamsburg,” she said.
Elements often donated services, gift cards and portions of proceeds to community organizations and fundraisers.
“It’s just an amazing reward to see the difference you make in someone’s life,” Mullen said.
Elements will be accepting appointments until May 14 and encourages anyone with a gift certificate to call 757-627-7243 or go to the website to schedule services before that date.
