Pamela Wilson O’Brien, travel agent and realtor who enjoyed exploring other countries

Pamela Wilson O’Brien passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, surrounded by her family after a long struggle with MDS and leukemia. Her everyday thoughts were of her daughter, grandchild and family.

Pamela was born in Norfolk. She was past honored queen of Bethel No. 12 of the International Order of Job’s Daughters in South Norfolk. Adventurous at a young age, she became a ticket agent for Pan American World Airways in New York City.

In the 1960s, she became a travel agent in Athens, Ga. In the 1970s, she became a Realtor and attained the designation of Realtor emeritus in 2012 after 40 years of helping families. Her lifelong love of travel took her across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. She was also an avid reader.

Pam was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Shirley Wilson; beloved sister, Lynne Wilson Rosso; and nephew, Grant Wilder Wilson.

She is survived by her friend and companion of many years, Alexander Drummond Grant; daughter, Hillary Simone Zaneveld and Christopher Ulisse; granddaughter, Lailah Alexandra Zaneveld; brother, George, and his wife, Cathy Wilson; nephews, George Warren Wilson IV, Garland Windell Wilson, Garrett Winston Wilson and Ronald Phillips Rosso; and niece, Tracie Lynne Rosso.

A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at her daughter’s home.
