The Williamsburg Area Destination Marketing Committee and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance are celebrating awards for two recent promotions.

WADMC and GWCTA, along with Florida-based Miles Media Group, won a local Silver Award at the American Advertising Awards in March for the newly redesigned VisitWilliamsburg.com. The site got its first face-lift in 10 years and launched last November.

The committee and the Alliance, along with New York-based public relations agency Percepture, also won a gold public relations Adrian Award in February for a segment in the PBS program “Travel Detective” about the Williamsburg origins of the farm-to-table movement.

The gold award, which is a recognition from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, is the highest level of the Adrian Award.

Corrina Ferguson, director of destination campaign marketing for WADMC, said the awards speak highly of the WADMC team and agency partners like Miles Media Group and Percepture.

“This is absolutely a team effort,” Ferguson said. “I love the fact that we’re able to showcase award-winning work across the destination and across the agencies.”
