Jamestown earned a confidence-boosting win on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping Tabb 9-0 to earn its first win of the young season.

Anna Walter opened things up with a sweep of Tabb’s No. 1 singles player Jenny Gu.

The rest of Tabb’s singles roster fared about the same, as the closest match game between Jamestown’s Alisha Kohli and Julia Hwang at No. 2. In the end, Kohli edged Hwang in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Doubles was less competitive as Jamestown won all three matches by a final score of 8-2.

Jamestown (1-3) will host Poquoson on April 12, while Tabb (1-1) will host New Kent on April 12.

Lafayette Coasts Past Warhill

Lafayette kept its perfect season intact Wednesday as the Rams defeated Warhill 7-2 on the road Wednesday.

Led by No. 1 singles player Tawni Hatcher, the Rams defeated Warhill in four of the six singles matches played.

Warhill needed to sweep all three doubles matches to claim the overall victory, but the Lions were defeated in all three matches to guarantee Lafayette’s win.

Lafayette (3-0) will visit Smithfield on April 12, while Warhill (2-2) will host York that same day.

Grafton Eases Past Poquoson

Grafton had little trouble defeating Poquoson 7-2 at home Wednesday afternoon.

The Clippers won four of the six singles matches before sweeping doubles to earn the overall match victory.
