York pitcher Chelsea Evans had a near-perfect showing during Tuesday’s home game against Bruton, allowing just two hits during a 14-0 shutout victory.

While Evans dominated on the mound, York got big offensive performances from Destiny Martinez and Miranda Yokum, both of whom drove in three runs.

York opened the scoring in the first inning with a pair of runs before adding four more in the bottom of the second inning. The Falcons blew the game open in the bottom of the third inning, scoring six runs to make the score 12-0.

The Falcons added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, which further solidified the five-inning victory because of the Virginia High School League’s 10-run rule.

York (4-1) has now logged shutout victories in its last three games. The Falcons will look to continue their dominance on Thursday when they host Tabb.

Meanwhile, Bruton (1-4) will face a quick turnaround when the Panthers visit Tabb on Wednesday.
