Gleneva ‘Glen’ Jenkins Grigsby, 92,  passed on Good Friday, March 25, 2016.

A cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend, her kindness and caring for all she met will be remembered and missed.

Glen was born in Tennessee on November 23, 1923. She and her husband Julian ‘Lefty’ Grigsby moved to Williamsburg in the late 1940s.

She is survived by her five children, Dawn Kenny, Jay Grigsby, Diane Carter, and her husband, Barry, Judy Vermillion, and her husband, Hunter, and Ron Grigsby. She had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Glen will be remembered for many special qualities, including her strong faith and abiding love of her family. She was an avid Yankees baseball fan, loved golf, gardening and reading. If you were lucky, she baked you her wonderful banana nut bread. Her family will forever hold her heart in their hearts. They ask you to pray for her journey onward.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of the Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg and the Sentara Hospice Staff for their compassionate care. A heartfelt thanks goes to Roxanne Lindsay for her caring companionship.

A celebration of Glen’s life and graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Williamsburg Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Glen’s memory be made to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
