Boys Tennis Roundup: York Cruises Past New Kent

York’s tennis team opened its season with a clean sweep of New Kent on the road Wednesday.

Led by Josh McFadden at No. 1, the Falcons dropped just six games during singles play.

The Falcons continued rolling in doubles, winning all three matches to secure the easy victory over the Trojans.

York (1-0) will try to move to 2-0 on the season during a home match against Warhill on April 12.

Jamestown Suffers First Loss of 2016

Jamestown proved no match for Norfolk Academy during an 8-1 loss at home on Wednesday.

The Eagles secured just one victory on the day, as Brad Mahaffey earned a 6-4, 6-4 win against Max Benkovitz at No. 3 singles.

Jamestown (1-1) will try to rebound on the road Monday against Collegiate School.
