Judson ‘Bill’ Kennedy passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the age of 81.
Bill was the beloved husband of Sarah; the best dad in the world to his sons, Scott and Kevin; and wonderful father-in-law to his sons’ wives, Marcella and Loren. Bill was also a kind and loving granddad to Ryan, Alex and Anya.
He will be deeply and sadly missed by his family, his beautiful Aunt Vivien; much-loved goddaughter, Susan; sisters-in-law Virginia and Sandra; cousins, Bauer, Gash, Holden, Loughridge, Smith, Towner and Walton; and numerous nieces and nephews in the USA, Scotland and England.
As a U.S. Air Force veteran of more than 20 years, Bill was laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434, in a private ceremony with full military honors.
The family wishes to thank everyone at Heartland Hospice, especially LaDonn and the amazing Alecia, who provided comfort and support and advocated for Bill to have the best care in his final days.
Our deepest thanks also go to the beautiful Williamsburg Hospice House and to the compassionate and caring nurses, aides and volunteers whose support allowed Bill to survive in his last days with dignity and peace.
Merciful God, thank you for giving us all of our days with Bill Kennedy. He was a wonderful man and a gift to us all.
In lieu of flowers, it is the request of Bill’s family that you would make memorial donations in his memory to the Williamsburg Hospice House, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
