Janet Stubbs Crews, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Janet was a native of Swansboro, N.C., and a Peninsula resident for 44 years. She enjoyed playing and spending time with all her family and friends. She was a member of Seaford Christian Church.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and called ‘Memaw’ by her family. Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence Odell Crews Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Dolan.
She is survived by her loving children, Kimberly Morrell (Bruce) of James City County, Susan Crews of Yorktown and Melissa Brehm (Chris Erickson) of Seaford; a brother, Ray Stubbs of Chester; five grandchildren, Chris (Heather) and Jason Hancock, Melissa Brehm (Chris), Hannah Moore and Nickolas Crews; and six great-grandchildren, Alexis and Roxanna Nicholson, Prudence, Gunner and Ryker Erickson and Taylor Hancock.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Seaford Christian Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m., one half-hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held following the graveside service.
