Reeves Trott picked up where he left off last season, scoring a hat trick and tallying three assists as Lafayette drubbed Lakeland 12-0 at home to open its season Monday evening.

Justin Wilson and Trott each logged goals within the first three minutes of the first half, a pace that set the tone for the blowout victory. Within the first 16 minutes, Trott had logged his hat trick and was removed from the game.

But Trott was not the only starter pulled in the first half. With Lafayette leading 9-0 with 17 minutes left to play in the first half, Lafayette Coach Brian Sorrell pulled all of the starters and had reserve players finish the game.

Even with second-string players in the game, Lafayette added three more goals until the game ended.

Lafayette (1-0) will host Warwick on Thursday looking to remain perfect on the young season.
