Thelma Zinn Blades, 85, left us, bound for heaven, on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
Born in Baltimore, Md., to Irma and William Zinn in 1930, she graduated from St. Michaels High School and Easton Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, to become an R.N. She was a staff nurse at the Easton, Md., hospital, Seaford, Del., hospital, a nursing home, and finally, an addiction rehabilitation facility.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, Sudoku puzzles, adult coloring and card games. She attended Bethel Methodist Church in Oak Grove, Del., until she moved to Virginia, where she attended First Simple Church of Williamsburg. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Blades; son, William Jr.; granddaughter, Kilby Blades; and sister, Ruth Reed.
She is survived by a son, Scot and his wife, Sandy, of Williamsburg; daughter-in-law, Dawn Blades of Laurel, Del.; sister, Marlene Stinemire of Baltimore, Md.; two nieces and two nephews; a sister-in-law, Jeanne, and her husband, Donald Marvel, of Greenwood, Del.; and two step-granddaughters and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be private at Thelma’s request.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to a local hospice or charity of choice.
