Emmarena Delsie Huffman West went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 27, 2016, surrounded by her family and other loved ones.
As a child, she grew up in Stanley. Emma and her husband, Harold Huffman, who passed away in 1995, were Williamsburg residents since 1971, where they were both very active and loyal members of Smith Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her five daughters, Dianna Evans (Bill) of Springfield, Bobbie Greene (Dennis) of Williamsburg, Esther Carpenter of Richmond, Tina McCauley (Ray) of Sandston and Beverly Huffman of Americus, Ga.; and her very devoted and loving friend, Walt Johnson.
She is also survived by her brother, Shirley Housden (Peggy); her sisters, Nancy Campbell (Ron), Martha Graves and Carolyn Dovel (Charles), all of Stanley, and her sister, Bonnie Dovel of Shenandoah. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty; her brother, Buddy; and her husband, Martin West.
Also left to cherish her memories are five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, her church family, especially her Sunday school class, The Steadfasters, and many other loving friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Nelsen Funeral Home 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, at Smith Memorial Baptist Church, 6515 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
Her wishes were for donations to be made in her memory to Smith Memorial Baptist Church.
