If coffee isn’t your thing, the James City County Police Department is offering another casual option to get to know local law enforcement agents: coloring.

“Coloring with a Cop” is a new initiative that will be held the first Tuesday of the month starting tomorrow, March 1.

The hourlong event begins at 11 a.m. at the Barnes & Noble in New Town.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children and “spend quality time” coloring and chatting with police officers.

The Barnes & Noble is located at 5101 Main St.

Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously stated the date. The event will take place March 1.
