George L. Graham Sr., 72, answered the Master’s call on Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Medical College of Virginia.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Personal Savior and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He served his church as a member of the trustee board. George retired from Colonial Williamsburg after 37 years of dedicated service. In August of 2015, he retired once again, as a cook from Camp Peary after 16 years of employment. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 41 years, Helen J. Graham; son, George L. Graham Jr. (Hilda); sister, Marion Wallace; brother, Robert Graham; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

A funeral service celebrating the life he lived will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 29, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charles City, with the Rev. George Magazine officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 29. Mr. Graham may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 28, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
