James City County Parks and Recreation is already gearing up for spring and summer with its upcoming “Destination Recreation Expo.”

This annual event is slated for Saturday and will feature informational booths, interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities highlighting the many programs Parks and Recreation has to offer.

Though expo activities such as a cook-your-own-s’mores demonstration, a make-your-own-bird-feeder activity and a terrarium craft project are geared towards kids, programs and classes for children and adults alike will be on display.

A number of year-round Parks and Recreation offerings will be highlighted during the expo, but particular focus will be placed on the upcoming spring and summer programs including summer camp opportunities, outdoor sports, aquatic programs and special events.

Attendees will also have access to advance copies of the Parks and Recreation Spring/Summer 2016 brochure, and will have the chance to register early for summer camp.

In addition to raffles taking place throughout the morning, discounts for camps, classes and facilities will also be offered exclusively to expo attendees.

The James City County Recreation Center will host the expo from 9 a.m. to noon. It is free and open to the public.
