James City County has rolled out new social media pages and introduced a new hashtag to promote local tourism.
The Explore James City County Facebook page and the @exploreJCCVA Twitter handles will feature posts about events, attractions and businesses in the county.
Businesses, residents and visitors are encouraged to use the #loveJCCVA hashtag when sharing posts about their experiences in the county.
The additions are part of the county’s efforts to grow and expand its social media presence, which were ramped up last year with posting responsibilities assigned to different staff members and dedicated hashtags like #WantedWednesday.
“I believe the expansion of the County’s social media presence will benefit the vibrant tourism assets of James City County and the increased number of events in the County. We want to encourage visitors and residents to like our new Explore James City County social media pages,” said Jody Puckett, JCC Director of Communications, in a statement.
