Update: The lockdown was lifted at 12:45 p.m. Feb. 19, a spokesperson with Fort Eustis said. The incident remains under investigation.

Original Story: Fort Eustis is on a precautionary lockdown as base authorities investigate possible shots fired.

The report of shots fired came in around 11:30 a.m., a spokesperson with Fort Eustis said. It is not an active shooter scene, she said.

There have been no reports of casualties.
