It is a great time to be job searching in the Historic Triangle with three different job fairs taking place around town in the coming week.

The Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association will be hosting a job fair for its member restaurants from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sal’s by Victor Italian Restaurant.

Representatives from more than 20 local restaurants will be on hand to discuss job openings and position details.

Individuals interested in working both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house positions will have the opportunity to meet with local restaurant owners and managers to learn about the job opportunities currently available.

Colonial Williamsburg will also be hosting two separate job fairs Wednesday and Thursday that will break down available positions into two groups: 18th-century jobs and 21st-century jobs.

Wednesday is 18th-century jobs day, during which prospective employees can come out to learn about the multitude of historic area jobs available in Colonial Williamsburg.

Current openings include positions in trade shops, taverns, historic area retail shops and a variety of other costumed interpreter roles. Attendees at this portion of the job fair will have the opportunity to view costumes and historical products and props up-close as well as to talk to current interpreters in the historic area about their experiences.

Thursday’s job fair will focus on 21st-century careers and take place outside of the historic area, including jobs in finance, information technologies, hospitality, culinary, guest services and bus operations.

Representatives from Colonial Williamsburg’s hotels, restaurants and museums will be interviewing prospective cooks, housekeepers, curators and other non-costumed potential employees throughout the day.

Both job fairs will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woodlands Conference Center on their respective days. Interviews will be conducted and hires will be made on the spot for some of the openings.

“We have over 40 different career paths and 200 positions we’re recruiting for right now,” said Carole Moore, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s talent acquisition consultant. “There really is a very wide range of positions open, from entry level all the way up through managers. There is something for everyone.”
