Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) officials are exploring the possibility of adding an aquatic center to their recreational offerings.

WISC General Manager Chris Scrofani said a few months ago staff began discussing the idea of a pool that could serve existing WISC members and potentially groups.

Scrofani said members have asked for a pool since the WISC opened in 2000.

“We want to look at the possibilities of things that fit the needs of the community and things that make sense for us as a business,” Scrofani said.

The proposed 12,600-square-foot aquatic center would be located south of the WISC and consist of an eight-lane lap pool and a smaller therapy pool, according to the project’s conceptual plan entry in the JCC CaseTrak system.

The project will be considered by the JCC Planning Commission’s Development Review Committee on Feb. 24.
