Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is partnering with James City County to offer recreational soccer this spring for boys and girls ages 4 to 18.
The purpose of the Williamsburg-James City County youth recreational soccer league is to offer a fun and educational environment for children to learn the fundamentals of soccer.
Teams are constructed to be competitively fair and convenient for players and parents. School attendance and available nights are factored into team development, so players have the opportunity to play with their friends.
Depending on the age group, players can have up to two practices a week and a game on Saturdays. Games will be officiated, but there will be no league standings kept throughout the season.
Players who participate in the recreational soccer league will receive a soccer bag, two team jerseys, free Monday clinics that serve as an optional extra practice per week and may participate in the end of season carnival celebration.
League practices begin March 15, and games run from March 19 to May 14.
Interested players may register online, by phone, in person or by mail through March 7. The league fee is $55 for the first child, with a $5 discount for additional children.
