Girls Basketball Roundup: HRA Suffers Setback Against Cape Henry

Hampton Roads Academy suffered a 53-24 loss at home against Cape Henry on Tuesday.

The Navigators found themselves in a big hole after the first quarter, trailing the Dolphins 15-2 after the first eight minutes of play.

Cape Henry continued growing its lead in the second quarter, taking a 27-10 lead into halftime.

The third quarter proved the best for HRA, as the Navigators put up 10 points. However, Cape Henry still outscored HRA 16-10 during the quarter and put the Navigators further behind. The fourth quarter was more of the same as Cape Henry was able to cruise to the easy victory.

HRA (3-9) has lost six consecutive games and will try to rebound on the road Thursday against Walsingham Academy.

WCA Blows out Broadwater Academy

Williamsburg Christian Academy scored a 67-27 road win against Broadwater Academy on Tuesday.

The game against Broadwater Academy was never in question as the Eagles established a big lead early and never relinquished it.

WCA (12-4) has won four of its last five games and will try to continue its string of good play at home against Isle of Wight Academy on Tuesday.

Individual statistics were not reported for this game.
