Sarah was a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson and a 1942 graduate of Poquoson High School. She and her late husband, Tal, operated Tal and Sarah’s Grocery from the late 1970’s until 1983.

Sarah was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting antique dolls. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Talmadge Forrest Sr; a son, Andy Forrest; her brothers, Albert Martin Jr., Henry Faye Martin, Ronnie Martin, Bob Martin and William Martin; and a sister, Hilda Ferguson. She survived by her son, Talmadge B. Forrest Jr; her grandchildren, Kevin, Jennifer, Wayne, Monica, Katie, Ashley and Rebecca; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jessica, Trey, Sarah, Joseph, CJ and Andie; one great-great-grandson, Kyrum; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 10, at Trinity United Methodist Church. A private, family graveside service will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Poquoson Fire Department, P.O. Box 2404, Poquoson, VA 23662.
