American Pride Automotive recently presented Hospice House & Support care with a gift of $6,000 raised as part of the Community Star State Inspection Program.

The auto shop, which has locations in Toano, Williamsburg and Yorktown, sets aside $5 from each state inspection completed in select months to benefit various local organizations as part of the Community State initiative.

Past recipients include Heritage Humane Society, Peninsula SPCA and Grove Christian Outreach Center.

Hospice House was chosen to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from November through January because of the vital services it provides as a non-medical, not-for-profit hospice with a mission to enhance the quality of living for those facing the last phases of life and to support those who love them.

All services provided by Hospice House are without charge or reimbursement from insurance, so donations from the community are crucial to keeping the doors open.
