Silt, a farm-to-fork eatery located in the Village Shops of Kingsmill that opened in 2014, announced it has permanently closed its doors as of Jan. 26.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant told its followers about the decision to cease operations.

“It’s a very sad day here at Silt. We would like to thank all of our guests and the community for supporting us throughout the last few years, but we are closing our doors as of today,” the post read. “Thank you all for dining with us. We will miss you all!”

Silt’s objective was to inform its customers about the origins of their food, how it as raised and sourced and why that was important.

The restaurant specialized in Southern dishes and was described on its website as a “rustic-farmhouse-chic” environment.
