Moira M. Lindsay, 81, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Lindsay. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on February 4, 1934. In January 1960, she immigrated to the United States with her three children to join her husband.
They settled in Hampton, Virginia and lived primarily in the Old Fox Hill Section. In 1979, Moira and her husband moved to Williamsburg where she remained. Most recently she resided in Heritage Commons Retirement Community where she formed many new friendships.
She retired from Peebles Department store where she had many loyal customers in the children’s department. She and her husband traveled frequently to Scotland, England and Canada to visit siblings. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed time spent with the grandchildren and was always a willing babysitter.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Watkins (Jeff); her sons, Ross and Alan Lindsay; granddaughters Angela Rowe McDonald (Sean) Lauren Watkins Malone (Jonathan); and her great-granddaughters, Annabelle and Willow Holman and Rowan McDonald.
A memorial service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2nd.
