LeRoy Sherwood Hill, 83, enjoyed playing video games with his grandchildren

leroy hillWith heavy hearts, the family of LeRoy S. Hill, formerly of Wind Gap, PA, and residing for the last two years in Williamsburg, VA, announces his passing on January 23, 2016 at the age of 83.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loring and Ella Weston Hill, sister Beryl Beidler, brother, Robert Hill, and grandson Derick Bellis, Jr (Kathy Bellis). He is survived by his loving wife Jean Oliver Hill, son Darrel (Pam) of Florence, AZ and daughters Karen Fell and Sandra Bellis (Derick, Sr.) of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren Michael Albertson Jr. and Rachel Hill; great grandchildren Ashur, Michael, Jaylin, Iyanna; sisters Dorothea Shafer and Betty Laub of Bangor, PA.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also retired from Ingersoll Rand, Phillipsburg, N.J. after 30 years of service. He was an active member of Hope United Church of Christ, Wind Gap, PA. He was a member of Bangor, Pa. class of 1950 and a member of Brothers in Harmony Barbershop Chorus.

He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed playing video games with his grandchildren. His hobbies included golfing and camping and he especially loved spending time with his family.

At the request of the family, a private family service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Ashur Bellis College Fund sent in care of Nelsen Funeral Home.
