The snowstorm making its way through the Mid-Atlantic hit the greater Williamsburg area around 11 a.m. today.

Schools announced closures before the snow arrived, while many businesses, government offices and area attractions said they will close early. Click here to get the latest updates on closures, cancellations, delays and postponements.

The snowfall is expected to continue until about 4 p.m., when residents should expect rain and sleet to take over.

WYDaily has compiled photos from staff and Historic Triangle residents who captured the snow that has fallen.
