The Williamsburg-James City County Community Action Agency is currently holding registration for its Neighborhood Basketball League.
Registration for the Neighborhood Basketball League, which is for boys and girls ages 10 to 18, will run through Thursday, Jan. 28. Williamsburg and James City County residents may register for $20 per child, while non-residents may do so for $25 per child.
The Neighborhood Basketball League, which had 234 children participate last year, is a program that strives to provide a safe, fun environment that promotes a sense of community through sports.
Games are played on Friday and Saturday evenings with adult volunteers who have undergone background checks, thus discouraging children to participate in risky behaviors during that same time.
To register for the Neighborhood Basketball League, all players will need to provide a birth certificate or some form of identification that reflects their current age. Additionally, children under 18 years of age will need a parent’s signature in order to participate.
Any interested parties may register at the Community Action Agency located at 312 Waller Mill Road in Williamsburg.
