Members of the John Cardinal O’Connor Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians recently recognized the season of giving with a donation of $800 to Saint Bede Social Ministry Outreach.

The Ancient Order of Hiberians is America’s oldest Irish Catholic fraternal organization, and its chapters can be found across the country.

Members of the order endeavor to help newly arrived Irish immigrants acclimate to the United states culturally and policitcally while also celebrating Irish art, dance, music and sports. The organization also takes an interest in issues that pertain to its membership, including immigration reform and human rights issues.

The donation to Saint Bede will help assist the Outreach Center in providing for “the needs of the area poor and homeless as Social Ministry endeavors to end homelessness one relationship at a time,” according to a recent news release from the order.
