Six Historic Triangle football players – five from Lafayette and one from Grafton – were recognized as all-state caliber football players for Group 4A.

Lafayette’s Hezekiah Grimsley was named a first-team wide receiver and second-team punt returner after logging more than 1,000 receiving yards and returning three punts for touchdowns during the season.

Trey Neville, Lafayette’s first-team tight end, was not as prominently featured in the passing game this year, but thrived as a run and pass blocker for the Rams.

Lafayette’s lone first-team defensive selection was Cheyton Pine, who proved tough for other teams to handle at the outside linebacker position.

Lafayette’s second-team selections, in addition to Grimsley, who was selected as a punt returner, were kick returner Kyle Johnson and defensive back Joeseph Kraegenrbink.

Grafton’s Reed King was selected as a first-team kicker and punter after making nine of his 12 field goal attempts during the season that included conversions from 40-plus yards out.
