Richard Washington scored a game-high 34 points as Walsingham Academy earned a 71-66 overtime win at Massaponax on Saturday.

Despite his point total, Washington was nearly held scoreless in the first half as he finished with three points, all of which came in the second quarter.

With Walsingham trailing 27-18 at halftime, Washington put the team on his back in the second half. The Wake Forest commit scored 12 points in the third quarter and 15 points in the fourth quarter.

Behind Washington’s scoring outburst, the Trojans were able to battle back and send the game into overtime with the game tied 63-63. In the overtime period, Jaylin Stewart hit four free throws to help the Trojans earn the win.
