Tabb had four players score in double figures as the Tigers downed Lafayette 66-43 at home Friday evening.

In addition to a game-high 17 points from Madison Clemons, Tabb also got 13 points from Brianna Harper and 11 points from both Imani McDowell-Jarmon and Tamia Smith.

Harper’s points were only a small contribution to the win for Tabb as she also played man-to-man defense against Lafayette’s top scorer, Rachel Lia.

Playing close to Lia along the perimeter, Harper kept Lia from finding open looks from deep and forced her to drive the lane where she is less effective. Lia finished the game with 12 points, but did not make a 3-pointer.

The third quarter proved the difference for Tabb after the Tigers entered halftime with a 32-25 lead over Lafayette.

Tabb outscored the Rams 21-5 in the third quarter to pull away during what was, at the time, a close contest. With a large lead opened up, Tabb was able to coast through the fourth quarter for the victory.

The Tigers (8-1) will get a short break before participating in the Surry County tournament against Lancaster on Dec. 26. Lafayette (4-4) will resume its season Jan. 5 at home against Bruton.
