Armani Franklin scored a career-high 35 points, most coming from inside the paint, as Williamsburg Christian Academy dominated Amelia Academy at home during a 74-49 victory Wednesday.
Franklin dominated the paint and essentially scored at will against a weak Amelia Academy defense.
The career performance by Franklin came on a good night as WCA Coach Scott Jones was displeased with his team’s defense throughout the game.
“We gave up a lot of easy baskets,” he said. “We’ve got to make it tougher for teams to score on us.”
Defensive concerns aside, Jones said the game was never really in question as WCA always seemed to be able to get a big basket when needed.
In addition to Franklin’s 35 points, Kaylee Boger scored 12 points for WCA, and Charnissa Chillers chipped in eight points.
WCA (4-2) has now won three of its last four games and will look to continue its streak of good play on the road against Atlantic Shores on Thursday.
