Lawrence Turner Bryant, age 89, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, December 4, 2015 at his Williamsburg home.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Dora Bryant, and his parents, brothers, and sisters.
He was an active member at York River Baptist Church and an honorary lifetime deacon. He enjoyed serving the Lord, being with his grandkids, and the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Prentiss. Following the war, he worked 38 years for home beneficial life insurance company, until he retired in June 1988.
He is survived by his daughters Linda (Kenneth) McGinley and Dorrie (Sam) Alspaugh; grandchildren Sean (Katie) McGinley and Samantha, Adam, and Anderson Alspaugh; great grandchild Alyssa (Chris) Kondysar and Molly McGinley; and great-great grandson Jack Lawrence Kondysar.
Visitation will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 8. Interment will follow with military honors at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, National Parkinson Foundation, and/or York River Baptist Church.
