Tuesday’s men’s basketball game between William & Mary and Old Dominion University at Kaplan Arena may prove good for the sole.
The fourth annual Shoeless Showdown, a charity basketball game sponsored by William & Mary, C&F Bank, the Williamsburg Salvation Army and Chick-fil-A, offers incentives for attendees to donate new pairs shoes to those in need.
Each attendee who brings a new pair of children’s or adult’s shoes will receive a free ticket into the game. Additionally, each person donating will also receive a voucher for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich, a $10 voucher toward a new C&F Bank checking account and one ticket to an upcoming Tribe basketball game in December.
For those unable to attend the game, which begins at 7 p.m., but still wanting to donate, any new shoes can be donated at any Williamsburg C&F Bank location.
Shoes collected during the drive will be donated to the Williamsburg Salvation Army and given to children and adults in the area in need of shoes.
“We are thrilled to be the benefactor of the shoes and excited that we have surpassed our goal for the past three years,” said Maj. Karen Hasty of the Williamsburg Salvation Army. “We have many in the area in need of new shoes.”
