claude walkerRev. Claude R. Walker (Ret.), 91, of Seaford, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015.

Claude was born in Shelby, NC to Everett and Inez Walker in 1924 and was predeceased by a brother, Norris Walker.

Claude proudly served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was led to become a Southern Baptist minister several years after his return home. He pastored churches for more than 42 years in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.

The most important things in his life were God and his immediate family, as well as his many Church families that he loved as much as his own.

Claude is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruby C. Walker, a son, Mark A. Walker (Margie Milner) of Poquoson, VA, a daughter, Terri Blanton (Darren Goodwin) of Seaford, VA and two grandchildren, Evan Blanton (Chelsea) and Katie Blanton, of Seaford, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 12 at James River Baptist Church, where he pastored for many years, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at James River Baptist Church.
