Wessex Hundred, the property that includes the Williamsburg Winery, Gabriel Archer Tavern, Wedmore Place and Café Provencal, recently announced the hire of Simon Smith as director of events and Kathryn Kincannon as the new hospitality manager at Wedmore Place.
Smith comes to Wessex Hundred with more than 20 years of experience in hospitality management at luxury properties.
Early in his career he served as a winemaking assistant at Louis Jadot in Burgundy, France and from there he moved on to management positions at Relais & Chateaux properties, Goodston Inn & Estate, Meadowood Resort, Gravetye Manor Hotel and Blackberry Farm.
In his new capacity at Wessex Hundred he will oversee the functions department, including the catering and conference services programs on site.
Kincannon, who will oversee the 28-room hotel adjacent to the Winery, brings with her more than 25 years of hospitality experience, including 10 years as general manager of the Lake Placid Lodge, a Relais & Chateaux property in upstate New York. Recently she served as a consultant to luxury properties all across the U.S., including in California, Hawaii and Massachusetts.
