The Williamsburg Movie Tavern location is preparing to undergo a $1.5 million upgrade that will affect nearly every facet of the cinema eatery.

Plans to upgrade the Williamsburg location stem from a nationwide effort by Movie Tavern to revamp some of its original locations.

“While our national expansion efforts include new markets and new theaters, we remain committed to reinvesting in our original locations, such as Williamsburg,” said Danny DiGiacomo, director of marketing at Movie Tavern, in a news release. “We’re excited to finally bring moviegoers in this community the premium full-service in-theater dining experience they’ve been patiently waiting for.”

Among the planned upgrades at the Williamsburg location are new reserved seating areas, new luxury lounge chairs with call-button service and armrest tables in every auditorium and an expanded dining and drink menu.

In addition, a new fully stocked bar in the main lobby will feature wine, beer and signature cocktail lists.

Four of the eight auditoriums are expected to be completed before Thanksgiving, while the remaining four are expected to be finished by Christmas. The full-service bar in the main lobby is projected to be done by the end of the year.
