A Seaford man did not contest the charge he stalked a 17-year-old boy.
Taylor Ryan Daniels, 25, pleaded no contest Tuesday in York-Poquoson Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court to a misdemeanor stalking charge as part of a plea agreement with the prosecution that drops the misdemeanor obscene sexual display charge he also faced.
Daniels was charged Sept. 15 after a 17-year-old boy reported a man, who was watching him play soccer on the fields off Old Landing Road, left and returned several times.
The boy said the man seemed to be gesturing a request for oral sex and used a “sex device” to commit sexual acts on himself while watching him, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office report at the time of the incident.
The boy reported the incident as it occurred around 7 p.m. Sept. 14; Daniels was arrested the next morning and has been held at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail since.
Judge Wade A. Bowie accepted the plea agreement and issued Daniels a 12-month sentence, with all but time served suspended.
Daniels will be on probation, which will include therapy sessions and adherence to the protective order the boy issued against him, for two years. If Daniels violates probation, he could serve the 10 months and five days of his sentence that were suspended.
