Two new members have recently been elected to the board of directors of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Inc.
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Inc. is the nonprofit that coordinates fundraising for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, which oversees Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center.
Joining the board are Allan Finger of Williamsburg and Dr. James White Rawles Jr. of Virginia Beach.
Finger attended Denison University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics before moving on to Michigan State for his MBA. He has held senior management positions in the consumer electronics industry for more than 30 years and is currently an associate with Vickerman and Associates.
Beyond his work consulting in strategic port design and commercial port market forecast and analysis, Finger is also an executive partner with the Master of Business Administration program at the College of William & Mary.
Rawles received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Virginia and his medical doctor degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a practicing gastroenterologist and is on the medical staff of Virginia Beach General Hospital.
In addition to his medical practice, Rawles is also active in the management of family farms in Southampton and Mecklenburg counties, and in working with the Nature Conservancy to re-establish the longleaf pine in southeastern Virginia.
