NavigatorsHampton Roads Academy suffered a first-round 6-0 loss in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament to Cape Henry on Tuesday.

Stephanie Seaman and Ali Gordon of Cape Henry each scored two goals for the Dolphins, while Virginia Apperson and Sydney Dudley also added goals.

HRA finishes the season with a 2-9 record and back-to-back losses.

Grafton Falls to James Monroe

Grafton’s season came to an end Tuesday as the Clippers lost to James Monroe 2-1 in overtime during the Group 4A East semifinal round.

James Monroe’s Libby King scored the first goal of the game in the first half, which propelled James Monroe to a 1-0 halftime advantage.

Erin Malone countered for Grafton in the second half, finding the back of the cage to send the game into overtime.

During the overtime period, Lizzie Hamlett of James Monroe scored the game-winning goal to send James Monroe to the state tournament and regional final.

Grafton (13-7) ends its regular season one win shy of advancing to the state tournament.
