Cross-Country: Bruton Girls Take Second in Conference 33 Championship

Bruton’s girls cross-country team finished second during Friday’s Conference 33 championship at the Eastern State campus.

The Panthers finished with 52 points, which was 31 points behind first-place Maggie Walker.

Sophomore Clara Wincheski paced Bruton with a fifth-place finish in a time of 20:27. Her teammate Kaitlyn Ardrey finished seventh in a time of 21:19, while Victoria Senn took 10th in a time of 21:33.

Bruton’s Rachel Brotherton finished 12th in a time of 22:02, and Zoe Bonafe rounded out the Bruton scorers in 18th place with a time of 25:26.

In the boys race, Bruton finished in fourth place with 89 team points. The Panthers were 65 points being winners Maggie Walker.

Curt Ivanoff led Bruton with a 14th-place finish in a time of 19:11, while Garrett Turner was right behind Ivanoff also with a time of 19:11.

Bruton freshman Griffin Serio took 18th place with a time of 19:19. William Houghland (19:58) and Eduardo Baca (20:12) rounded out the Bruton scorers in 21st and 22nd place, respectively.
