Max RinaldiWalsingham Academy lost to top-seeded Norfolk Academy 6-0 on the road during Wednesday’s Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament semifinal round.

Norfolk Academy jumped on the Trojans in the first half, building a 3-0 lead after the first 40 minutes of play.

The second half was more of the same as Walsingham Academy struggled to cope with the wave of attacks from Norfolk Academy, which added three more goals in the second half to secure a comfortable 6-0 victory.

Walsingham Academy (9-9-1) will now wait to see if it is selected to partake in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II tournament.

Individual statistics were not reported for this game.

Cape Henry Upends Hampton Roads Academy

Hampton Roads Academy fell 3-1 against Cape Henry Collegiate in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament semifinal round Wednesday.

The Navigators found themselves in a 2-0 halftime hole as Cape Henry pressed on the offensive third of the field.

Jalen Johnson got Hampton Roads Academy on the board in the second half, but the goal was countered by another Cape Henry goal — the final score of the game.

Hampton Roads Academy (13-4-1) will now wait to see if it is selected to compete in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II tournament.
